The Doctors and nurses assess and manage all urgent and chronic medical problems, as well as providing preventive care such as children’s check-ups, skin checks, comprehensive assessments for older people, healthy heart checks and chronic disease plans. The Doctors liaise with allied health and medical specialists when required to provide the best quality care.

Childhood immunisations are provided as per the Victorian immunisation schedule, and can advise on extra vaccines for children. The pneumonia and shingles vaccines are available for older people at no charge, as is the whooping cough vaccine for pregnant women and their partners.  The influenza vaccine is provided annually and are currently running clinics for the Pfizer. For a vaccination please book with our nurses (travel vaccinations require a doctor’s consultation prior).

Procedures such as suturing of wounds, biopsy of moles and rashes, removal of skin cancers/cysts, and wart treatments are available. Please book a consultation with a doctor if you require these services.

Iron infusions are offered at both clinics for patients with proven iron deficiency anaemia which has not responded to oral iron supplements, or if oral iron is not tolerated. The infusion usually takes 15-20 minutes, plus time required to set up the infusion. It is requested that patients wait for 30 minutes to ensure they feel well before going home. A consultation with a doctor is required prior to booking an iron infusion in order to assess suitability.

Doctors are able to support the mental health of our patients with advice and preparation of mental health care plans or eating disorder plans. With a plan in place, patients are able to access a medicare rebate on sessions with a clinical psychologist.

As well as contraception and pregnancy care the doctors also provide cervical screening, assessment and management of pelvic pain or abnormal bleeding, menopause management, and advice for any other gynaecological and hormonal concerns.

Early pregnancy consultations are provided by all doctors at Viewbank and Rosanna Medical Group. Shared antenatal care for public hospital patients (when pregnancy care is shared between the hospital obstetricians/midwives and a GP) is also available, and is offered by several doctors at each of our practices.

Doctors are able to provide advice on  STI testing and treatment, and contraception. Contraceptive implants can be inserted by many doctors – please tell reception if you are booking for an implant (implanon) insertion or changeover to allow for sufficient time. Intrauterine devices (mirena and kyleena) can be inserted by Dr Ajanta Ghosh.
